Die vorliegende Norm beschreibt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des vorhandenen Abdampfrückstandes von Flugkraftstoffen und des Abdampfrückstandes von Ottokraftstoffen oder anderen leicht flüchtigen Destillaten als Endprodukte zum Zeitpunkt der Prüfung. Für andere als Flugkraftstoffe wird auch ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des heptanunlöslichen Anteiles des Rückstandes beschrieben. Vorsicht - dieses Verfahren ist nicht anwendbar für die Prüfung von Ottokraftstoff-Komponenten, besonders von solchen mit einem hohen Prozentsatz an niedrigsiedenden, ungesättigten Verbindungen, da sie während der Verdampfung Explosionen verursachen können.
