Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM ist Teil einer Reihe, die isolierte Drähte zum Herstellen von Spulen in elektrischen Betriebsmitteln behandelt. Diese Normenreihe besteht aus drei Gruppen: 1) Prüfverfahren (IEC 60851); 2) Technische Lieferbedingungen (IEC 60317); 3) Verpackung (IEC 60264). Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM gibt allgemeine Hinweise zu Prüf- und Messverfahren für Wickeldrähte. Weiterhin werden die in der Normenreihe IEC 60851 verwendeten Begriffe festgelegt. Anhang A enthält eine Inhaltsübersicht der Teile 2 bis 6 von IEC 60851.
