Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM enthält die Betriebsverhaltensnorm für Laserdiodensender mit integriertem 2,5-Gbit/s-Modulator. Die Betriebsverhaltensnorm enthält eine Festlegung der Anforderungen an das Betriebsverhalten und eine Reihe von Prüfungen und Messungen mit genau festgelegten Bedingungen, Prüfschärfen und Annahme-/Ausfallkriterien. Die Prüfungen sind als Erstprüfungen der Konstruktion zum Nachweis der Fähigkeit des Produktes vorgesehen, die Anforderungen der Betriebverhaltensnorm zu erfüllen. Ein Produkt, das alle Anforderungen an das Betriebverhalten erfüllt, kann als die Betriebsverhaltensnorm erfüllend deklariert werden, es sollte jedoch anschliessend durch ein Qualitätssicherungs- /Qualitätskonformitätsprogramm überwacht werden.
