SR 3137 : ISSUE 1

Provides Bellcore's view of proposed generic requirements for uniform cause values on National ISDN 3 (NI-3) Basic Rate Interfaces (BRI). It lists the agreed upon set and meaning of the cause values that will be supported on a BRI in the NI-3 time frame. It also identifies when each cause value is intended to be sent to or received from the terminal equipment for basic call control and for the BRI supplementary services that are provided in a uniform manner from the end users' perspective. Consolidates in one document, all the information required to provide uniform cause values, diagnostic information, and location indicators on a BRI in the NI-3 time frame. It also clarifies situations when when certain cause values are sent. This document is not intended to introduce new requirements.
