Bellcore's preliminary view of proposed generic requirements for Visual Message Waiting Indicator (VMWI). VMWI is an SPCS feature that activates and deactivates a visual indicator on a Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) (e.g., a flashing LED) to notify the customer that unchecked messages are waiting for him/her. The messages are administered by a third party of Independent Service Provider (ISP).
