Provides Bellcore's view of proposed Generic Requirements on X.25 Packet Switches (PSs), Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Packet Handler Functions (PHFs), Access Concentrators (ACs) and the Service Control Point (SCP) so that NUI and NUI Override capabilities may be provided from the BCC X.25 packet networks in a uniform manner nationwide. NUI is used to identify Public Packet Switched Network (PPSN) and ISDN packet users for purposes of billing, security and other networks services that require caller identification. NUI Override is a capability that allows subscription facilities associated with a NUI parameter to be invoked automatically on a per-call basis when a NUI parameter that can be validated is passed to the packet network call establishment.
