Bellcore's proposed view of generic requirements and objectives for Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs). These generic requirements and objectives serve to promote satisfactory operation and functionality of OTDRs in the environment of a typical BOC. This document provides criteria against which an OTDR can be analyzed and it includes performance tests to compare OTDRs against the stated requirements and objectives.
