La norma specifica i requisiti per la costruzione, prestazione, imballaggio primario ed etichettatura delle fontane da tenere in mano e i corrispondenti metodi di prova. Si applica ai fuochi artificiali che sono classificati come fontane da tenere in mano per utilizzo esterno nella categoria 1 della UNI EN 14035-2 e che sono contenuti in un imballaggio primario. Si applica alle fontane da tenere in mano per utilizzo interno che sono classificate in categoria 1 della UNI EN 14035-2 e che hanno una composizione pirotecnica basata su nitrocellulosa con una frazione in massa di non più del 12,6% di azoto.
