La norma definisce, insieme alla UNI EN ISO 10297:2014 e alla UNI EN ISO 14246:2014, le prove e i controlli in produzione, nonché i requisiti per l'etichettatura delle valvole ad apertura rapida per bombole di gas trasportabili ricaricabili per gas non tossici, non ossidanti e non corrosivi compressi o liquefatti, o per gas compressi utilizzati come autoestinguenti, protezione contro le esplosioni e per le applicazioni di salvataggio.
