This Standard is included in DIN Handbook 185. The specifications apply to supporting parts of electric hoists, which are used on their own or together with other equipment, e.g. cranes. The nominal rope diameters were determined in accordance with DIN 15020 Part 1, and in particular in driving gear groups 1Bm and 1Am for wire ropes made of wire of nominal strength 1770 N/mm2 (180 kp/mm2) and in the other driving gear groups wire of nominal strength 1570 N/mm2 (160 kp/mm2).
