Specifies test methods for the determination of the ability of an organic coating containing an intentional defect to resist disbonding caused by the application of cathodic protection. Either of two types of test cell is used (concentric pot or porous plug) and tests are usually carried out over a period of 24 hours or 28 days. Any resulting radial disbondment is classified into one of five groups.

This Standard provides practical test methods for the determination of the ability of coatings to resist disbonding caused by the application of cathodic protection. Either of two types of test cell may be used for tests, which are carried out over a specified duration, usually either 24 hours or 28 days. Test results are classified into five groups.NOTE: Where not restricted by process time constraints it is recommended that the 28-day test be used in preference to the 24-hour test.
