According to output quantity, this apparatus may be of one or more of the following kinds: d.c. supply with stabilized voltage, a.c. supply with stabilized voltage, d.c. supply with stabilized current, or a.c. supply with stabilized current. Safety requirements are covered in BS 4743 : 1971.
