TRANSPORT RELIABILITY ANALYSIS GENERIC GUIDELINES (TRAGG)

Contains Bellcore's view of the generic guidelines and procedure used by Bellcore when performing a Reliability Analysis of a transport product. Two approaches to the performing of a Reliability Analysis are identified. Both are aimed at providing more timely information to Bellcore Client Companies (BCCs). The first and preferred approach, called the Standard Analysis, is a new two phase approach consisting of a Design Reliability phase and a Production Reliability phase. In certain instances, a second approach, the Alternate Analysis, can be conducted at the direction of the BCCs when products are already in production. One approach or the other is used consistently for all products of a given type. However, the two approaches respond differently to the situation created by rapidly evolving technology.
